Mentors / Katrina Watland
Katrina was born in Mandal, Norway and spent her childhood moving around Europe. She moved to the United States to attend Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and later transferred to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Katrina earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Texas Tech and began her teaching career.
After a couple of years, she left the classroom and began working at Arthur Andersen in Dallas, TX. While working in Practice Management at Arthur Andersen, she pursued her Master’s degree on the side. After earning her Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Social Work, she began a new career as a counselor at the Galerstein Women’s Center at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Outside of work, Katrina is an active community volunteer. Katrina has a passion for diversity and social justice. She currently sits on the Board for Frisco Family Services. Katrina is married and has two children.
